ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis has been named the fourth most dangerous city in the country in US World News and World Report's latest ranking.

The new report lists the top-25 most dangerous cities in the US. It's led by Memphis, followed by San Juan, Puerto Rico; Flint, Michigan; St. Louis; then Bakersfield, California.

The crime rate in St. Louis in 2020 was higher than the national average, worse than cities like Chicago and Dallas, according to the report. A description of St. Louis says the area's low cost of living and "the charm of St. Louis' neighborhoods may be a pleasant surprise to newcomers."
