ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A suspect is in custody after police say he robbed a woman after forcing her to commit sexual acts and then shot at another woman in St. Louis.

The incident happened Sunday around 11:20 p.m. near the intersection of Hodiamont and Ridge Avenues in north St. Louis. Police say a 29-year-old female victim was walking in the area when the suspect forced her behind a building and gunpoint. He then made her commit sexual acts and stole money from her, police say.

Police say he was confronted by a 47-year-old woman and he walked away from the scene and fired several shots at her. She wasn't struck.

Responding officers chased the suspect on foot and arrested him near Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Goodfellow Boulevard. They say a gun was recovered and an investigation is ongoing.
