JENNINGS, MO (KMOX) - The 4-year-old boy who died in a St. Louis County home Wednesday morning, shot himself in the face, police say.
St. Louis County Police say Devonte Carter Jr. found the loaded 40 caliber handgun in a dresser in the home in the 5400 block of Hamilton.
His father, 25-year-old Devonte Carter has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful posession of a firearm.
Police say Carter is a convicted felon, having been convicted of possessing a controlled substance in November of 2019.
