Students arrested after police respond to brawl inside St. Louis school

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Some 20 police cars raced to the scene of a fight inside a school cafeteria in downtown St. Louis on Wednesday. Multiple students were arrested, but there were no reports of serious injuries.

It happened at Confluence Preparatory Academy on Olive and 15th Streets around noon. Police say they responded to an "Aid Call" and had juvenile officers along with district officers at the scene.

Officer were pouring into the building for what turned out to be a series of of fist fights. One student says there will also a fight between some female students earlier in the day. Multiple male students were arrested.

Loretta Nettles was on the scene and says her grandson was beat up by four boys in the cafeteria.

"He said four other boys jumped him. This is just terrible, there are so many fights at this school," Nettles says. "He had a fight a few weeks ago with them same boys. They suspended my grandson but they didn't suspend them boys."

A student and teacher who witnessed the brawl say there were no serious injuries and no guns involved.

The charter school has about 400 students in grades 9-12.
