Police are looking for two people who carjacked and pepper-sprayed an Uber driver Wednesday night in north St. Louis County. It happened around 7:20 pm in the normally quiet subdivision of Sugartree Homes near I-270 and Lewis and Clark Boulevard.
Police say the driver got out of the car to help the two people he thought were his riders. They pepper-sprayed him and took the car. It was later found in Belleville.
Uber issued a statement saying the company has talked to investigators and the driver, who suffered minor injuries. Uber also banned the account which called for the ride. It was triggered through the app.
