CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) — The first vaccines arrive in St. Louis County later this week and health officials say they will be prepared to store them.
During his Wednesday morning briefing, County Executive Sam Page announced the county has bought three ultra-cold freezers, capable of storing about 76,000 doses.
Page also says the county is working on getting two more on loan from a local company. He didn't give specifics.
Page reiterated that vaccine shipments will arrive by the end of the week, and the process of being distributed to hospital workers will begin from there.
However, Page warns not every medical professional will get the vaccine right away. It'll be up to the hospitals who gets the vaccines first.
Page expects all St. Louis County hospital workers will be taken care of within a month.
