ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The first day of 2022 could also bring the first measurable snow of the winter in St. Louis. But the storm's current track is still not quite clear to meteorologists.

This weekend is expected to be the first nasty winter storm of the season in St. Louis. Wind chills may reach 10-15 degrees below freezing with some freezing rain in the area.
But what's yet to be determined is where the snow will fall.
Our Dave Murray says the next 24 hours will be bring the forecast better into focus. You can read his full forecast, here. 'The National Weather Service says there are two possible tracks for the incoming storm that's expected to hit on New Year's Day:
What's more likely for St. Louis is rain on New Year's Eve night, which may turn into wet snow Saturday morning as the temperatures drop quickly.
Saturday's possible weather ranges from "thunderstorms, to plan rain, to a cold rain ending as some wet snow as colder air rushes in behind the low," according to Murray. "It’s all a mess right now."
Saturday night, the temperature will fall to the teens and Sunday will stay cold and breezy, with a high of 29 degrees. That's when the wind chills is expected to be below zero.
