Mike Lindell, whose claim to fame comes from his famous pillow company and his support for former President Donald Trump, is suing the FBI.

Last week, Lindell claimed that his cell phone was seized by the FBI at a Hardee’s drive-through, and his suit alleges the agency violated his rights.

The court filing says that Lindell feared “for his and his friend’s lives” as the seizure happened. It also says that he was “prepared to ram one of the vehicles to escape” after his truck was surrounded by federal agents executing a warrant, Forbes reported.

The pillow company executive claims that he was subject to “unlawful detention” after he was not allowed to leave until he surrendered his phone to the FBI agents.

The filing goes on to say that agents did not explain to him his rights, while refusing to let him call an attorney when they questioned him on several topics related to his stolen 2020 election claims, Business Insider reported.

The interaction with the FBI did not result in Lindell being arrested or charged with any crime, but he says the government was tracking him in order for the FBI to execute the search warrant and know he was at Hardee’s.

The lawsuit demands that the FBI return the phone and all information obtained from it to Lindell. It is unclear whether Lindell is under investigation or if the FBI was seeking information from him for another investigation.
