Senator Roy Blunt says he will not seek re-election

WASHINGTON (KMOX) -- Senator Roy Blunt says he will not run again for the United States Senate.

In a video message released on social media, Senator Roy Blunt announced that he wouldn't be a candidate next election.

"I won't be a candidate for re-election to the United States Senate next year," Blunt said"

His retirement opens up questions about who could vie for his seat in 2022. Missouri Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe appears to be considering a run.
