
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Illinois Department of Public Health on Monday reported 2,060 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases — the fewest number of daily cases reported since Oct. 6. An additional 48 people also died from the coronavirus.
The IDPH has reported a total of 1,146,341 coronavirus cases, including 19,633 deaths.
Over the past 24 hours, 81,550 tests were performed for a total 16,636,585. As of Saturday night, 2,188 people were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 507 patients were in the intensive care unit and 245 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6 is 3.4%. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6 is 4.1%.
