SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMOX) - There was no getting around a single-wide trailer that was abandoned in the middle of a Missouri road on Wednesday afternoon. The man who left it there was arrested and charges are pending.

Around 3 p.m. the Greene County Sheriff’s Office received reports of the trailer sitting in the middle of an intersection near Farm Road 168 and Farm Road 97. It was blocking traffic in the southwest Missouri town for hours.
Police say a school bus couldn't get students home, multiple mail boxes were taken out by the wide load and it sparked some pretty wild and hilarious theories. The Facebook post from police got more than 4,400 shares and 1,700 comments.

Some of the most popular were:
“When your parole officer says you can’t go within 100 yards of your home and you have to visit a friend."
“This is what happens when the husband finds out the in-laws are coming to stay,”
“Someone trying to file an insurance claim from the storms." Then someone else replied, “yes, my house just blew away. I can’t find it. When will the check be ready? Never mind….. police found it.”
Later that day, a man was arrested for property damage and abandonment of a vehicle, the Springfield News-Leader reports. Police say the man said the tires blew out while he was moving the home, so he was out looking for help.
“There were some mechanical issues going on with the tires and clearly that weight of the trailer, kind of just came in,” Greene County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Paige Rippee said. “So there was just no way he was going to get it removed from the roadway without contacting us.”
Some people called and message police asking for the trailer to be given to them. But since it couldn't be moved, police called in a few tractors to just tear the thing apart and move it off the road piece by piece.
