Blue Springs Police Department received several calls from parents of Blue Springs High School students demanding that more protection be offered for their kids, according to Fox4 in Kansas City. The list included bounties for two dozen freshmen students.

Photos of the list circulated on social media, which listed a student's name, next to the reason they were being targeted – which included obnoxiously loud, cheater, pedophile/sex offender and closeted gay – then it listed the amount of money given for beating them up.

One parent said her special-needs daughter was on the list and that she'd been a target of bullying for years.

“It’s heart-wrenching, you know? I don’t know if she’s safe or not,” said the mother.

The Blue Springs School District sent out a statement about the list:

“Over the weekend, we were made aware of the lists circulating on social media. Our administrative staff, the Department of Public Safety, and the Blue Springs Police Department are working together on the investigation. At this time, the social media posts are found not to be credible.”
