Whataburger to add 30 locations in Missouri, Kansas thanks to QB Patrick Mahomes

Whataburger is coming to Missouri and Kansas thanks to NFL star and now investing mogul Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who grew up in Texas, loves Whatburger. In fact, he loves it so much he's helping to franchise 30 Whataburger restaurants to his fans in both Missouri and Kansas over the next seven years. He's part of a new “investor-led franchise group” called KMO Burger.

The locations of the restaurants have not yet been announced, but a press release says "KMO Burger will open 30 Whataburgers spanning from Wichita, Kansas to St. Joseph, Missouri and includes a concentration in Kansas City."

As of now, the closet locations to St. Louis are in Arkansas.

Mahomes says he grew up eating Whataburger and he issued a statement saying "I’m excited to help bring a gift from my first home to my second home."

This may all be thanks to the QB's tweet in 2018:

Whataburger already had plans to open four Kansas City-area restaurants in Overland Park, Lee’s Summit, Independence and Blue Springs.

Whataburger is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 830 locations in 10 states and sales of more than $2.5 billion annually. The Texas chain is also planning to expand to Tennessee.
