The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has arrested Ted Foy, 52, of Augusta, on charges of Rape (x2), Aggravated Sexual Battery (x2), and Aggravated Criminal Sodomy.

On November 13th, 2007, at approximately 11:00pm, Officers were dispatched to the area of 1900 S Tara Falls in reference to a sexual assault case. Officers learned that a suspect had broken into a home and sexually assaulted a female victim. Investigators worked to identify a suspect but were unable to despite exhausting all available resources at the time.

Recently, in collaboration with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Cold Case Team and the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center, WPD Investigators were able to utilize genealogical investigative techniques to assist them in identifying a potential suspect. The suspect’s identity was confirmed through DNA as Ted Foy.

Foy was arrested Monday by the WPD DIVRT team and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail and charged with Rape (x2), Aggravated Sexual Battery (x2), and Aggravated Criminal Sodomy.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.
