DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - With their final pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have selected South Carolina wide receiver Jalen Brooks with the No. 244 overall selection.
Brooks becomes the first wideout taken by the Cowboys in the draft, and just the second skill position player behind Deuce Vaughn.
Brooks started his career as a linebacker at North Carolina, but transferred to South Carolina for his final three seasons of eligibility.
In those three seasons, Brooks had 58 catches for 785 yards and two touchdowns in 22 games. he also had four rushes for 51 yards and score in 2022.
Brooks will come in and compete for a spot on the roster, but is likely a practice squad candidate.
