Celebrate Mardi Gras in North Texas

Happy Fat Tuesday! Today is Mardi Gras and there are plenty of ways to celebrate in North Texas.

You can join in on the Fat Tuesay Bash at Legacy Hall in Plano. It kicks off at 6:30 tonight. Follow a marching band as it parades through Legacy West and through all three floors at Legacy Hall. The Bobby Balk Brass Edition will play New Orleans-style jazz from 7-9pm tonight. Admission is Free.

In Dallas, the Rustic will host an all-day Fat Tuesday celebration featuring a crawfish boil, Cajun food, Mardi-Gras-themed cockails and live music starting at 11:00 am. Admission is free.

There will be a Mardi Gras party at Jaxon Beer Garden at Dallas' AT&T Discovery District where you can find live music, food and drink specials including crawfish by the pound and king cake eating competition - from 6-10pm tonight. Admission is Free.

The Round Up Saloon and Dance Hall is hosting a free crawfish boil with sides and king cake included. The wacky shopping cart parade kicks off at 9:30pm, followed by a Mardi Gras-themed drag show at 10:30pm. Celebration starts at 8pm. No cover charge.

Enjoy Fat Tuesday at the Free Man! You can head to Deep Ellum to join in a second-line march through the neighborhood, which starts at 6:30pm. Then order some of Free Man's Cajun specialties like crawfish pasta, etouffee, jambalaya and red beans and rice. Live bands take the stage at 7pm. There is a $10 cover charge.

In Fort Worth, The Krew of Cowtown's annual costume ball is at the Post at River East from 8 to 11pm. Musicians James Hinkle, Ginny Mac, Jerry Abrams, Gary Grammar, Guitar Frenchie, and Latin Express Horns will be playing. Admission is $20.
