While there isn’t much for Texans to complain about when it comes to living in the Lone Star state, one thing people often criticize is the law preventing them from buying beer or wine before noon on Sundays. However that all changes on Wednesday, as a new law will go into effect letting people start their “Sunday Funday” a little earlier.
Starting Wednesday beer and wine can be sold on Sundays after 10 A.M.
Along with 665 other new laws, starting Wednesday House Building 1518 will go into effect, allowing grocery stores and convenience stores to sell beer and wine starting at 10 A.M.
Previously stores had to keep their alcohol beverage fridges locked until noon. While liquor still can’t be sold on Sundays, many Texans were excited to get a head start on their Sunday drinking.
Alcohol now can’t be sold or delivered on Sundays, before 10 am and after 9 pm, or on New Year, Thanksgiving, and Christmas days.
With this new law, Sundays just got a lot more exciting.
