A Frisco man has become the latest from North Texas to admit guilt in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Jason Hyland could get up to six months in jail after pleading guilty to a charge of parading through the U.S. Capitol.
The Government said it was Hyland who chartered a jet to go to Washington along with codefendants Jenna Ryan and Katie Schwab.
The group flew to the Nation’s capital to attend a rally by Former President Donald Trump.

In a factual resume, read in court, a federal prosecutor said Hyland and Ryan had returned to their hotel after the Trump rally.
However, as the demonstration at the Capitol turned into a riot, both decided to go to the building and find Schwab, who was already there, the prosecutor said.
Hyland and Ryan went into the building for about a minute and a half before leaving, according to the resume.
The Government said both left when they heard that teargas was being used.
During the Zoom hearing, U.S District Court Judge Christopher R. Cooper asked if the facts stated were essentially correct. Hyland’s attorney agreed. The judge then addressed Hyland and asked how he wished to plead.
“I plead guilty.” said the Frisco contractor.

The case was referred to presentence investigators who are expected to take two to two and a half months to work up a report.
The plea agreement calls for a sentence not to exceed 6 months in jail, although Cooper is not bound to follow the deal. He set sentencing for August 2, 2022, in an in-person hearing.
Ryan, a Frisco real estate agent, pleaded guilty to a similar charge last year and has already served a 3-month jail sentence.
Schwab’s case is still pending with a tentative trial date of June 20, 2022.
