1 person killed by police at Irving Hospital, police say

One person was shot and killed by police at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving, according to Irving police department.

According to reports, around 8:00 p.m. a nurse saw a man with a gun and called police.

When officers arrived, they encountered the man who fired at the first two officers and then another when back-up arrived.

Police say they returned fire and the suspect was killed at the scene.

In addition to Irving police internal investigators, the Dallas County District Attorney shooting squad is also on the case which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
