A sheriff's deputy in Dallas County is being commended for saving a four-year-old's life at a busy intersection.
It happened a week ago at Camp Wisdom and I-35 in South Dallas. Dashcam video shows a woman jump out of her car, grab her unresponsive child and run to Deputy Rose's squad car which was stopped behind her.
The deputy can be heard doing CPR and patting the child on the back. A bystander took over briefly so the deputy could radio-in for more help. The child eventually regained consciousness and was taken to a hospital.
"The Dallas Sheriff’s Office commends Deputy Rose for his quick actions and thinking under pressure in helping save the child who was clearly in distress," said Public Information Officer Raul Reyna.
