In partnership with the SPCA of Texas, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD brings you 'Adoptable Pet Pals,' a weekly feature to introduce you to animals that are ready for adoption.
KRLD's Kristin Diaz along with Maura Davies from the SPCA highlights the critical need for adopting families at local animal shelters by showcasing an "Adoptable Pet Pal" that has stayed at the shelter too long.
Meet this week's featured pet, Max!

Meet Max, a 7-year-old shepherd mix, a laid-back and cool dude who loves to play and chill. He's a smart boy, knowing commands like sit and shake, and he's even a pro at catching treats in mid-air! Max walks perfectly on a leash and strikes the perfect "Blue Steel" pose! With other dogs, Max can be a bit selective, so he might prefer being the only pet, but he's willing to meet potential siblings in his new home. However, cats are not his cup of tea. If you're 65 or older, check out our Seniors for Seniors program – adopt Max or any furry friend over 7 years old, and the adoption is free! He is housed at the SPCA of Texas’ Dallas Animal Care Center, so come on down seven days a week from noon to 6 p.m. to meet him.

Jack recently went on a “Borrow a Buddy” outing for a day and ended up spending the week with a lovely lady! He was so good with her dog and with her. She said Jack turned into a big old couch potato. He was very well mannered and when she took Jack out for walks, he was great meeting everyone.
At 92 pounds, Jack is a mixed breed bundle of joy with dark soulful eyes and fluffy tan eyebrows. This gentleman sports a classic black and tan coat with a white underbelly. He’s wiggly and happy and loves his treats.

Jack will love to meet any siblings in the home, both two- and four-legged, so be sure to bring them to a meet-and-greet.

In the company of other dogs, Jojo maintains a cool composure. Whether she's joining a playgroup or soaking up your attention alone, she's content either way. Here's the best part – while not quite available for adoption yet, Jojo brings something even better to the table: the option for foster-to-adopt! It's like test-driving the joy of having her around.
