The CEO of DFW Airport was one of the speakers at the UN Climate Change Conference in Scotland that just wrapped up. Airport CEO Sean Donohue says he told government officials and business leaders from around the world about the airport's efforts to reduce greenhouse gases.

"100 percent of the power, the electricity we use at this airport, 100 percent we purchase via wind power," Donohue said. "Texas is the largest state in The U.S. in terms of wind generation and we've been able to tap into that."

Donohue also explained that moving to wind generated power has also been financially beneficial for the airport, with their electricity costs dropping by $20 million since making the switch.

The airport has also signed the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism. It calls for businesses to reduce emissions in tourism by at least 50 percent over the next decade and to achieve "net-zero" as soon as possible before 2050.
