After two years of delays because of the Coronavirus outbreak, American Airlines is moving forward with non-stop flights from DFW Airport to Auckland, New Zealand.
Officials say the original plan was to initiate the route in October of 2020. But by then, international travel was plummeting during the pandemic.
American says the daily 15-hour flights will begin in late October, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
There's a 17-hour time difference between the two time zones so the DFW-to-Auckland leg of the flight will actually arrive two days after departure due to crossing the International Date Line.
