The Arlington car dealer who was shot while trying to repossess a loaner car this week has now died.

Police say Adel Elhindawi was shot Monday trying to get a loaner car back from a customer who had brought his own car in for service.

He has been in critical condition in the Neuro Trauma ICU at Medical City Arlington where he was taken off life support and pronounced dead Thursday.

The customer and now suspect Brian Espy, was captured by a fugitive unit at a Grand Prairie Motel 6 where he had been hiding out. He is locked up in the Tarrant County jail on robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. But with Elhindawi's death, those charges will certainly be upgraded.
