Arlington has given a natural gas drilling company the go-head to add three wells to a drilling site along Highway 360.
The site is about 600 feet from a daycare center where the owner and the parents are worried about the children's health.
Most of those who addressed the Arlington city council spoke against the additional wells, fearing an impact on air quality. But supporters of the company's request cited a state law that prohibits cities from banning drilling within city limits.
One council member, Rebecca Boxall, said she leaned toward voting against the request but could not violate state law.
The council approved the company's request on a 5-to-4 vote.
