
An Arlington police officer has been put on administrative leave while a report of a firearm discharge is under investigation.
Reports say the officer fired his pistol during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon when two officers pulled over a car that was connected to a felony warrant.
Suddenly, the passenger identified as Esteban Morales got out of the car displaying a gun. Investigators confirm that one officer fired his weapon but they do not believe Morales fired his. No one was hit by the officer's shot.
.Morales was arrested on outstanding warrants and on one count of unlawful possession of a weapon. The driver of the car was also taken in on outstanding warrants.
