The American Heart Association is really focusing on the future.

What used to be "Jump Rope for Heart" has now evolved to two programs called "Kids Heart Challenge" and "American Heart Challenge".

They help school aged kids learn about heart disease and stroke as well as discuss key topics focused on CPR, Nutrition and Movement, Anti Vaping, etc.

They say it's never too late for schools who want to bring this in for families, students, and teachers to sign up. All they have to do is visit Heart.org/GetStarted.

On Ask the Expert, Amanda Heffley joined the KRLD Afternoon News. She is the Regional VP of School Engagement for the organization.
