The organizations, RecruitMilitary and Disabled American Veterans will host a job fair Thursday at AT&T Stadium. The event is open to veterans, members of the National Guard, and their families.

Organizers say 57 companies had registered to attend through Tuesday afternoon.
"They're from a great variety of industries, and we're expecting a great turn-out of candidates, as well," Raul Torres, the event director and a Marine Corps veteran said.
RecruitMilitary has held 58 job fairs in North Texas, connecting 27,191 veterans with employers.
"One of the great things about our job fairs is you get these face-to-face interactions with employers, but many of these representatives are military veterans themselves, so they understand the skill set," Torres said. "Some of them were even on the other side of the job fair at some point, so they're definitely speaking the same language."
In January, the unemployment rate among veterans was 3.5%, lower than the 3.9% rate among civilians but an increase from 3.3% in December. The unemployment rate among veterans peaked at 11.9% in April of 2020.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the number of veterans in the workforce has dropped 42% over the past 20 years as World War II, Korea, and Vietnam veterans retired. Veterans now make up just 5.6% of the total labor force in the U.S.
The job fair at AT&T Stadium Thursday runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
"Definitely dress for the job you want," Torres said. "Practice your elevator pitch before coming out. No one can tell your story better than you can, and be approachable. Make as many solid connections as you can while you're at the job fair."
