The Fort Worth Police Department has made arrests in connection to the shooting in Como that resulted in at least three people dead and eight others injured Monday night.

During a press conference Friday, Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes said two arrests were made, 20-year-old Christopher Redick Jr and 19-year-old Brandon Williams. Both are charged with murder.

The homicide unit used surveillance video to help in identifying the suspects. Police say they believe that the shooting is gang-related.

Just before midnight, a 911 caller reported gunfire in the neighborhood near Diaz Avenue and Horne Street, Fort Worth police said. The caller had reported an armed 14-year-old boy walking up and down the street.

At least 30 Fort Worth police units ended up on the scene. Two gunshot victims were dropped off at the John Peter Smith Hospital emergency room.

Police said a 911 caller told them the person who left the victims drove away. It was immediately clear if the JPS victims were among those shot at the Como neighborhood crime scene.

Fort Worth police say that an altercation ensued before the shooting took place, though no other details have been released as to why.

"They were so young and had so much to live for. Take a second. Take a breath. If the first thought you have is to turn to a gun, just take a second, make another choice and live," said the Fort Worth Police Chief Noakes.
