The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Fort Worth is looking for a crew that broke into several gun stores across Tarrant County during the past week.

The group hit the Shoot Smart store in Fort Worth in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 28. Surveillance video shows a group of four people breaking a window in the store and then stealing several guns from a locked cabinet inside the building. Investigators say they returned to that same store early Monday.

A group of four suspects also hit a gun store in North Richland Hills on Monday and stole guns, ammunition and other items. Investigators say there were similar break-in attempts at stores in Grand Prairie, Arlington, and Grapevine. There was another attempted burglary at a store in North Richland Hills on Wednesday, but the burglars were startled by the cleaning crew and left without any merchandise.

Investigators say the vehicle used by the suspects in each case is similar, and one member of the crew was wearing a distinctive mask.

"Firearms stolen from FFL’s (Federal Firearms Licensees) pose a serious threat to our communities and are often used in other crimes; working with our law enforcement and industry partners to investigate FFL burglaries, and prevent future ones, remains one of ATF’s top priorities," said ATF Dallas Acting Special Agent in Charge James VanVliet.

They're asking anyone with any information about the break-ins to contact the ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS. Information can also be sent to ATFTips@atf.gov or through ATF’s website ww.atf.gov/contact/atftips.
