A bill to improve a fund for victims of crime is headed to President Biden for his signature.
The Victims of Crime Act / Fix Act will provide additional financial support for the Crime Victims fund, a fund which helps domestic violence shelters, child advocacy centers and other programs across the country.
U.S. Senator John Cornyn says it has faced short-falls in the past few years.
Until now, money for the fund only came from criminal fines and penalties, which meant it was not predictable from year to year.
The measure passed unanimously in the Senate and will head to the President for his signature.
