Chermirmir is suspected in the suspicious deaths of at least 18 elderly women in Dallas and Collin counties.

This week's proceedings are a re-do after his first prosecution ended in a mis-trial five months ago.
A new jury was selected last week but things got off to a slow start yesterday when one of the jurors failed to show. The judge herself called the man's employer who said he was at work.
A constable was sent to bring him to court. The man said he forgot.
There was a second delay when another juror looked around the courtroom and recognized the daughter of another woman whose death Chermimir is suspected of. The juror said he knows the daughter from church.
Even though that death is not part of the current trial, the judge questioned the juror and said she is satisfied he can remain impartial in this case. Proceedings got started four hours late.
