Boil your water! That's the message for residents of Fort Worth and nine surrounding cities.

Water treatment plants went offline Monday because of the rolling blackouts and the low temperatures freezing important equipment.

Chris Harder with the water department says over 200,000 residents will be affected, but the good news is that power was restored to the Eagle Mountain Water Plant.

"Once the plant is operational, that will increase the pumping to the north side. Along with the Holly plant and the Rolling Hills plant, will provide the needed capacity to bring that pressure plain back into service," Harder says.

Crews are working around the clock to defrost equipment.

Harder expects the boil water notice to stand through at least late Wednesday.

The cities affected: Fort Worth, Haslet, Keller, Lake Worth, Northlake, Roanoke, Saginaw, Southlake, Trophy Club and Westlake
