Even with police, firefighters, and paramedics urging North Texans to stay home, they're still dealing with an increase in the number of car crashes.

MedStar responded to 43 crashes around Fort Worth between 3:30 a.m and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, compared to just 14 over the same period Tuesday. MedStar had also treated five people for exposure to cold through 1:30 and was on the scene of five "ice-related" falls simultaneously.
Matt Zavadsky says they had planned ahead with icy roads expected.
Even with advice to stay home, traffic jams have formed around car crashes with some commuters saying they feel comfortable with their skills but worry about everyone else.
Zavadsky says 20 of the 28 crashes they responded were on an elevated section of a highway.
