A little girl is dead after getting hit by a van on Wednesday in Mesquite.
It happened a little before 8 p.m. in the 400 block of Feather Crest Lane. Police say the van hit the 8-year-old after she darted into the street on her way to another car. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died.
Police say the driver of the van stayed at the scene. They’re not facing any criminal charges at this time.
The accident is being called a heartbreaking tragedy.
