A jury on Tuesday found a Lewisville man guilty of capital murder in the deadly 2008 shooting of his two teenage daughters. Yaser Said will be automatically sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Attorneys delivered closing arguments Tuesday morning. The jury's deliberation took less than five hours.

Prosecutors say the case is simple, Yaser Said was angry that his daughters disobeyed his strict rules, so he killed both on January 1, 2008.

The state's case is a combination of scientific data, like DNA and cell phone location, along with witnesses and a 911 call from one of the daughters that named Said, as she was dying.

Defense attorneys have used much of their cross-examination to point out the police did not question other possible suspects.

The jury will also have Said's own testimony to consider. He tried to explain that someone could have been out to kill him the night of the murders.

Speaking through a translator, Said testified he left the girls in his cab, alive, and ran away hoping to draw away whoever was out to get him.

Said also testified that never in the history of trials has anyone been treated so unfairly as in this case.
