The Texas Division of Emergency Management is opening an infusion center to provide monoclonal antibody treatment to COVID-19 patients in Collin County. The center will open on Thursday, September 2nd, at the McKinney Campus Conference Center of Collin College on Community Avenue.

The center will be open from 7:00am through 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday. It will be able to provide antibody treatment to up to 60 patients each day.

"It is for mild and moderate COVID symptoms. This infusion is not approved for severe illness or hospitalized patients," said Dr. John Marcucci, Chief Medical Officer for the DFW East Region of Baylor Scott & White Health. The goal is to prevent those patients from developing severe symptoms that could require hospitalization. "We've been trying to direct patients to these patients and away from our over-crowded emergency departments," Dr. Marcucci said.

Collin College, and Collin County are also partners in the infusion center. The treatment is available at no cost to patients.

Patients can contact the infusion center by calling 972-548-6674. Doctors can contact the infusion center by emailing infusion@collin.edu.
