
The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Collin County during Monday's storms. The tornado had winds of approximately 100 miles per hour.
One home in the town of Blue Ridge was destroyed. Several other buildings were damaged, but no one was hurt.
The First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge has set up a fund to help families that were affected by the storm. They're not accepting donations of supplies or materials, but are accepting financial contributions. They have set up a link on their website to accept contributions.
People who want to help can also send a text message to TORNADORELIEF (888-411-3304) or mail donations to the church at 316 Highway 78 North, Blue Ridge, TX 75424.
The Texas Division of Emergency Management is encouraging people to report storm damage online.
Several roads in Collin County have been closed today because they have been blocked by storm damage or floodwaters. Crews from the Collin County Public Works Department are trying to open them as soon as possible.
Roads affected by the storm include County Road 331, County Road 400, County Road 504, County Road 557, County Road 580, County Road 590, County Road 602, and County Road 1220 at County Road 472.
