The Collin County Sheriffs Department is announcing a big meth bust following an investigation.
During a traffic stop on 75, Ernesto Chavez of Grand Prairie was found to have 21 kilograms - or 46 pounds - of meth stashed in his truck. Captain Nick Bristow says Chavez had been under investigation by the North Texas Sheriff’s Criminal Interdiction Unit.
Chavez is charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony. He is currently being held on a $750,000.00 bond.
