The number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in schools across the state.

According to the Texas Education Agency, four dozen school districts across the state have temporarily closed their doors to in-person learning, and have shifted to virtual learning only.

Our partners at NBC 5 tell us that two schools in the DeSoto Independent School District have been directly impacted by the increase in COVID-19 cases.

Last Wednesday, classes at both Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy and Woodridge Elementary School moved to online learning only.

In person learning is scheduled to resume in both schools Tuesday.
