For nearly 30 years, Operation Care International has blessed those experiencing homelessness and poverty in North Texas, providing essential needs through various programs.
During the pandemic, OCI's mission expanded to become a hub that distributes supplies like PPE, blankets, sleeping bags, and more to more than 40 shelters across the area.
For years, they had been blessed by a generous friend of the ministry who allowed OCI to store their products for free in a warehouse.
Unfortunately, due to some pandemic challenges to the business, Operation Care International has been informed they will have to move out of that space by August 31.
OCI founder and president Susie Jennings says OCI keeps 400 pallets of goods in the Oak Cliff-area warehouse currently, and has nowhere to put the essential supplies after the end of the month.
So, OCI is reaching out to find a 10,000 square ft space to keep their supplies in a location near Duncanville, Red Bird, Lancaster, Seagoville, Mesquite, or Garland.
Jennings says they don't currently have a budget to pay for such a space, so they are taking donations that would go toward rent here.
