Following a deadly concert shooting, Dallas' public safety committee is planning to discuss what the city can do.

Councilmember Adam McGough, who is chairman of the public safety committee, is adding an agenda item about the shooting to Monday’s public safety meeting. He wants to discuss what the city can do to prevent "senseless acts of violence like Saturday’s shooting in the future."

26 year old Kealon Gilmore, was killed and 16 others who ranged in age from 13 to 29 were wounded.

Police said someone shot into the air, leading to an argument before another unknown person fired into the crowd. Police have made no arrests but are asking the public for any videos taken from the event.

The concert did not have proper city permits and police chief Eddie Garcia says more needs to be done by the city to make sure these types of concerts don't occur.

Seven off-duty Dallas police officers were working security at the event but had left about an hour before the gunfire. Garcia issued an order that no off duty officers will work events that require a permit, but don't have one
