A driver whose car was struck by a Dallas fire truck Wednesday is recovering after needing hospital treatment.
Dallas Fire-Rescue says the fire crew was responding to reports of a structure fire when the fire engine they were riding in hydroplaned during some of Wednesday's torrential rain, colliding with a car on Garland Road near the White Rock Lake spillway in east Dallas.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit was transported to a local hospital. Officials say no firefighters were injured in the crash.
The fire truck was too damaged to be operated and had to be towed away.
