DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A downtown Dallas high-rise had to be evacuated because of the smell of natural gas throughout the structure Thursday night.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was called out about 7 p.m. Thursday to East Quarter Residences, a 20-story apartment building near Commerce and Cesar Chavez. Upon arrival, they found alarms going off on multiple floors as residents were complaining about the gas smell.

The entire building was evacuated while fire crews went floor-to-floor taking readings. Atmos made the scene to look for the cause of the leak. One person was taken to the hospital to get checked out
