A Dallas man is facing charges of selling illegal equipment to convert semi-automatic guns into fully-automatic ones.
The devices are called 'Glock switches.' Officials say they can be attached to a handgun to convert it to an automatic weapon in violation of federal law.
Federal investigators say they saw 22-year-old Jeremiah Dwyen Ashley advertising the switches on Instagram. Prosecutors say the ATF set up a meeting with an undercover agent at a gas station in Garland to buy three of the switches from Ashley.
ATF gents later intercepted a shipment of 30 switches to Ashley from China.
Ashley is charged with two counts of possession of an unregistered firearm and could face up to ten years in prison for each charge if he is convicted.
