The Dallas Zoo is showing off its brand new baby giraffe who is now eleven days old.
Zoo officials say the baby girl was born weighing just over 130 pounds to mom Chrystal and dad Tebogo. Zoo staffers say mom and baby are doing just fine but the baby will not be seen by the public for a while as she gets used to her new family and surroundings.
She's the second baby giraffe born at the Dallas Zoo in five months, so the herd is recovering after three giraffes including a baby and two adults died from unrelated causes in 2021.
