DENTON (1080 KRLD)- A man accused of growling at women, peeping in windows and exposing himself has been arrested in Denton.
Police say they’ve gotten several calls about the so-called “prowler” over the past two days from Woodbrook Street and the area around it.
"We did thoroughly search the area after each call," says Officer Allison Beckwith. "We figured out he was fleeing after each incident. On [today's call], our officers searched the area and they were able to locate that suspect."
Beckwith says the accused prowler has been identified as Shaun Korepela. He’s currently in the Denton County Jail, charged with disorderly conduct.
"It was odd-- just the variety of the behaviors and the frequency," says Beckwith, adding that these calls were virtually nonexistent two days ago. "We are glad that we've gotten the suspect into custody because we know that it caused a lot of alarm for the residents in the area. So we're glad that they can sleep a little safer tonight."
Beckwith says additional charges are pending.
