The Denton Spiderman is finally home after swinging into Uvalde over the weekend.
"If Spiderman can swing in and bring a smile and make a kid laugh ... then that's what Spiderman's gonna do," Jeremy Sons said.
Sons, Denton's resident superhero, said he was originally planning to go to Uvalde alone. But his plans quickly snowballed in the best possible way, becoming a huge event - all thanks to the kindness and generosity of other heroes across the state.
"Everybody played such an important part," Sons said. Thousands of people gathered at the El Progreso Memorial Library Sunday in Uvalde to greet Spiderman, including a handful of other heroes from around Texas. There was shaved ice, storytime, a foam machine, raffles, gifts, and prizes.
"Superman was there, Wonder Woman was there, Mickey and Minnie Mouse was there," Sons said. "It was incredible ... there were hugs, there were tears, there was laughter. We were able to share love with the most deserving children that I can think of. It was beautiful, it was wonderful, it was awesome."

Sons traveled down with more than $20,000 worth of donated toys and still ended up running out. So, he and a handful of other superheroes did what they do best: They saved the day by flying off to Walmart and buying out the entire toy aisle.
Sons said they weren't there to "fix" anything, just to play a small part in the healing process. He’s already planning to go back in July and said he'll go anywhere else kids need help.
"This is what Spiderman does," Sons said. "We're here to help."
