The DeSoto school district has named its finalist for Superintendent.
School board president DeAndrea Fleming has announced the selection of Doctor Usamah Rodgers following a special meeting of the school board.
Rodgers began her career as a teacher and worked her way into administration. Most recently, Rodgers has been Deputy Chief of Strategic Initiatives in the Dallas school district.
She will replace D'Andre Weaver who resigned in November.
