On Friday and Saturday, the DFW area experienced the two hottest days of the year, as temperatures ended up reaching a record-setting 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is the first time two consecutive days of at least 110 have happened since the scalding summer of 1980.

Even doing typical outdoor activities is proving to be dangerous.

On Friday, a one-year-old in a moving vehicle without air-conditioning was treated for heat exhaustion at Cook Children’s Hospital.

Later that night, three spectators and one player at a high school football game were overcome by the day’s extreme heat, which lasted into the night.

This coming week we’re getting a break as temperatures are falling below triple digits and back into the 90s, but not without this warning: if you spend too much time outdoors, you can still be at risk of heat stress, leading to heat stroke.
